will I actually give some things away?

I have a dresser drawer full of long underwear, velour leggings, and a few other things. I decided to do some seasonal clothing switch activities. I don't usually do that much (other than putting the mittens in the attic, etc.) but I did move the long-sleeved running shirts and replace them with short-sleeved in their respective places. Then I thought about how much long underwear I actually need. It was a pretty cold winter here and I did wear two leg layers sometimes, but I think the total base layer number I used was 2 pairs. I have some thermals that probably go back to high school, or at least the first winter I spent here, so 50 years? Can I make myself empty them into a donation bag? With a sigh, I removed two pairs of dress trousers from a different drawer and put them in the give-away pile. One pair feels like it fits exactly right, but I must be bulging out at hip level (?) because the pocket lining shows. The other is just too small to zip. When Arthur first left, I nearly stopped eating and my size diminished, but I got over that pretty soon. I presume I won't go back to smaller sizes anymore.

I have four pair of expedition weight long underwear which I wear pretty much every day between Nov & Mar. Four is a good number for laundry rotation, I don't launder them every wearing. I have three pair of lighter weight ones that I mostly don't wear. I have about 8 pair of lightweight leggings that I wear as long underwear when it's not really cold, or when biking when it's moderately cool (like today) or to yoga. That's slightly too many. None of this is older than 20 years; elastic rots and holes appear so they get rotated into textile recycling as needed.

And then there's the 300 tshirts :-)

Elastic is interesting. One of the not winter items in that drawer is my 8th grade gym shorts. (the white button down shirt that went with the navy shorts is long gone). I could barely squeeze into them (certainly wouldn't want to exercise in them) but the elastic is still intact.

I have no idea how many t-shirts I have. A huge box in the attic, 3 drawers at least in rotation.
