I think US media outlets mentioned the teenager in British Columbia who had bird flu. There wasn't much follow-up. TL;DR - It was terrible. She lived through it. Have a NEJM article about how long and how much intervention that outcome required. If it becomes common, it will be 2020 all over again, but worse. There won't be enough equipment and meds to go around.

I am making no predictions about spread. I report (second hand, because I'm not on reddit) that a number of people who keep hens in their yards have been bringing sick ones INTO THE HOUSE to care for them. No. Don't do that. It may not be very many, because the web amplifies stories like that, but sheesh.
