not exactly beating swords into plowshares, but nice

There will probably be a demonstration of some sort by the neo-nazi group White Revolution on the Lexington green tomorrow, on their way to disrupt Sunday's commemoration at the Boston Holocaust memorial. The police here are taking it very seriously. They've asked people to avoid going through the center if possible (we're a little worried that they'll re-route the buses) and have borrowed moveable barricades from the Boston police. It's ominous seeing the barricades around the edge of the green, but I was pleased to also see two people who had pulled one aside from the others and were playing badminton, using the barricade as a net.
