needlessly gendered hats

A friend of Flo's has newborn twins. I decided that since it's almost summer (loosely speaking), maybe what they need is sun hats. REI has some that I like, but they are all specified boy or girl. I am aware of the pinkness rules in western culture (males can sometimes wear pink shirts, otherwise not), but how is this a boy's hat? Isn't a childlike love of turtles gender free?

I don't see as many scabby knees on kids as there were when we were young. Maybe there is less playing outside, or maybe girls don't have to wear skirts to school so their knees are covered, or something. One of my youthful pastimes was picking at scabs (this was true for Arthur as well). I think I would still like it to be a hobby, but this time the scabs are on my face, and I'm hesitant to leave scars. I keep catching myself sort of patting the scabs, instead, which probably isn't a good idea either.

Paul Simon will be 70 this year, and the song will be about 40, I guess. A great combination with Stomp. I think maybe Jimmy Fallon should have stuck to playing the guitar, though.
