At a family gathering over the weekend, the girlfriend of Arthur's nephew was being told old family stories, including some about weddings. I was surprised to learn to what extent Arthur's siblings felt that we had had a medieval wedding. There were a number of friends there from the SCA, but people were wearing modern clothes, and except for the music and a few English country dances, we didn't think of it as anything but a contemporary ceremony and reception. Arthur's sister claimed that there were minuets, and his youngest brother came out with the quotation above. OK, well maybe there *were* minstrels in the trees (musician friends taking a break. My then-13 year old cousin changed to shorts and also climbed trees and waded in the pond, I think).
