I do most of my clothes shopping at Goodwill, although I'm bothered by some of the stuff I've heard about how they pay their workers. To successfully shop somewhere like that, one has to have a range of possibilities, or a very LONG acceptable waiting time for the object (I looked for about two years before finding the quilted jacket I wanted), or willingness to do some mending, or all of those. The chance of me finding this dress (close to the one I woke up wanting to wear tonight) at the Davis Sq Goodwill this afternoon is probably about zero.

The 20th amendment to the US Constitution specifies that January 20th is inauguration day. Accordingly, Mr. Obama will take the oath privately on Sunday. The public to-do is on Monday the 21st. Why? I think having another parade and more parties is a waste of money anyway, but why not do them on the proper day?
He will be using two Bibles, one belonging to Abraham Lincoln and the other to MLK jr. Will he be wearing white archive-touching gloves, such as the ones being used here to touch vintage First Lady garments?
