I was thinking about New Year's Eve. All of the evening First Night events this year are going to be outdoors, though some of the kids' activities early in the day will be indoors. Then I suddenly slid to "I think '21 is going to be a good year, especially if you and me see it in together." We have only four years to organize some sort of "Tommy" centennial celebration.

Don't know why Prufrock popped to mind, but with "I grow old . . . I grow old . . .
I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled" I got a flash of my father, in sweat pants that are way too short. They aren't rolled. He is frail and prone to falls. Every time he gets new sweat pants (his primary leg wear), I cut several inches from the bottom of his pant legs and hem them up, so there is no possibility of tripping over them, at least. In 1915 (when it was published), TSE was only 27, but maybe he knew some old people who were worried about their hems.
