It had been two months, so I went to get the second dose yesterday.

Achey, tired. But the CDC handout was right that it only took two days last time, so I presume I'll be fine by tomorrow afternoon or so.

I wish I could remember any biochemistry (this isn't the first time I have said that recently). I don't understand why recombinant whatever should produce more short-term side effects. But "studies have shown."

I bemoan my carbon footprint from time to time (which doesn't stop me from wishing to do absurd things, like fly to Atlanta for one morning to watch the US Olympic marathon trials https://www.atlanta2020trials.com/ )
When I worry about the state of the world, it's more about human rights violations and such (including, especially, the treatment of immigrants at our border or other borders). But in the back of my mind, I believe that we don't have much longer to live on our congenial planet. The speed of the permafrost melting in the Arctic is one really blatant change, and will speed warming in general. The goofy thing is the resulting desire to visit Greenland. https://www.vox.com/2017/9/6/16062174/permafrost-melting
One of Arthur's nieces chose a function place with a bay view outside Tampa for her wedding reception. It was nice, but we remarked to each other that it won't be there when they want to celebrate their 25th anniversary - it will be underwater. We can know that without really being able to imagine it.
