Premier now (started at 7 PM), recorded in advance, carefully, with masks and distance, in multiple studios at WGBH. I think will continue to be available for at least a while

It's the Christmas bits plus the Hallelujah Chorus, so it runs about an hour.
Singing along with the choruses. Tearing up at the photos of medical people dealing with Covid.

I participate in the Lexington Messiah singalong every hear, with local volunteer instrumentalists and often grad student soloists. And motley mostly good enough chorus. It's usually both fun and inspiring. But zowie, even the reduced number H&H folks are awesome, in the literal provoking awe meaning as well as the colloquial one.

It is traditional in my parents' section of the city to put out luminaria bag lights on a designated night before Christmas. There have been a couple of yard signs around promoting tonight as the night. My mother said that one year my father set out enough to go around the whole cul de sac. It's just a white paper bag with sand and a candle, but the light is lovely. This is my family we're talking about, so there were three old yellowed bags with sand in the garage, even though they haven't been able to do the setting up for years. i bought some tea light candles and set them out. Nobody else in the street has done it, but I'm finding their light a pleasure. I keep getting up to look out the window. There is drizzle, but they're holding their own.
Like this, but three of them instead of dozens.
