Do I need more timepieces?
Mar. 12th, 2024 01:00 pmFor many years, there was a (battery-powered) clock in the upstairs bathroom. I found it helpful when rushing around getting ready to go. Two of them each stopped working eventually, and we decided not get an additional replacement. I still look at that wall sometimes, hoping for information, so it would make sense to buy a new one. But adding another item to the house?
How about adding two time-related items to the house?
My therapy sessions tend to be split between "How do I make myself face the reality of my situation?" and "What's the best way to be productive?" For the latter, I have long been a to-do list maker but I really let things slide and spend hours using one screen or another. (my most common time sink), especially since I'm alone and on some days don't have time-specific commitments. The therapist recommended this item.

They come in different "trendy" colors. Set it up for some of the items on the list, either to limit something (only an hour of music videos) or to keep me from slacking off (20 minutes of Korean homework at a time before a break). I have a kitchen timer that I should probably try before investing in this, but it would be intriguing to watch the time color dwindle. Which might be a distraction by itself.
Unrelated, except that it sounds like therapy-speak to me, I got an email from Eversource (electricity company) about my new login. The subject line is "Email Affirmation from Eversource."
It would be nice if it said something like "You are inherently worth electricity" or another supportive remark, but no.
