a busy day

I heard on the radio yesterday that First Church UU in Boston was going to have a sunrise service by the river this morning. I would have had to get up by 5 to go, and then the timing later of the day would have been off, so I didn't really consider it. I did think of the daybreak Moravian Easter service in Old Salem (the original colonizer area of Winston-Salem, NC). It's outdoors, with a procession from the church to the graveyard. Brass bands play antiphonally along the way. I attended a couple of time in the 1960s, I think.
It occurred to me that technology has marched on in the meantime, and maybe there would be a livestream. I forgot about it again, until I woke up at 6:13 this morning. I searched online. The stream was scheduled to start in 2 minutes. It seemed like a sign, so I watched/listened to it, more or less in the background. The antiphonal aspect of the music was still there, but I wasn't too interested otherwise. *
I wrote an outraged message to the White House about sending EVEN MORE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION to Israel, got dressed, had breakfast, and headed out to ring. I was not scheduled to be in the peal attempt at Old North, so I had pre-booked a noon slot at the Isabella Stewart Garnder Museum, which is having nasturtium-a-palooza (not what it's called). They plan for months, so that the vines will be trailing out of the pots for many feet, then they drape them from upper windows into the courtyard. I took 16 photos (plus one orchid), but this gives a good idea of what the wall areas are like.

While I was in the neighborhood, I went to the new Hallyu exhibit at the MFA (originally curated for the Victoria & Albert in London, with some added MFA permanent holdings).

There were rooms and rooms of stuff (history, Kpop, movies and TV, fashion, cosmetics). At the end was a room where you could learn a bit of a dance, then a smaller room to record yourself to add to a day's montage. The videos disappear after 24 hours, ready for the next group of visitors. The song chosen was "That That." I have watched the version below # dozens of times. I was singing along in the room. Another patron encouraged me to participate. It didn't take much persuasion. Life can be better when you give up being embarrassed by things. Apologies for the typo, though. I meant MFA but I was typing on the phone, which is hard for me (I'm typing this on a real keyboard).

*It was a kind of brassy day locally, too, as Easter often is. There was a nice brass prelude at the Church of the Advent after we finished ringing, and late in the afternoon there was a honk group on the Cambridge Common.

# There were three choices for a snippet to perform. The part that my cohort was doing starts at about 2:38
