lauradi7dw: (disco ball)
I started with Livejournal in October 2004 and brought across as many of those entries as I could during the mass migration to DW. There are about 40 people whom I've given permission to read my journal, but since I don't lock anything, the whole world has access, in theory. I mentioned emailing some photos yesterday to a group of people. A friend said "why don't you just put them on your blog?" Well, why don't I? The answer is for some in that group, the existence of my blog would be news. Have I mentioned anybody in a way that I wouldn't want to be known if people went back to see what I had written in the past? I don't think so, but twenty years of entries is a lot (over 3,000).

DW users with a paid subscription are offered the chance to view "network" entries, which some algorithm picks, I suppose. Some of the users I get almost every day. Some of them only show up once, or rarely, and then I can't find the post again if I want to refer back to it. This morning someone in my network put up a link to this, from 2010.Start at about 0:40 to avoid Nick Cannon talking

My regular readers know that I link to a lot of music. Those lyrics struck me as the sort of begging I haven't engaged in but occasionally have fantasized about. Except I'd never call anyone Baby.

See - that's very personal. Do I want our nieces to see it, as an example? I do want them to see some of my photos.
