I was planning to be on the porch or in the yard for most of the 70 degree day, but the lawn companies all had the same idea.
My plan to hang laundry on the line was thwarted by seeing the clouds of dirt stirred up by the blowers


I'm standing in the neighbor's driveway to take the picture and the lawn being blown around is across a street, but the cloud of dirt and debris went partly down the block. I didn't want anything landing on my new-to-me flannel fitted sheet from a rummage sale, so I got to try out the very large drying rack (bought at a different sale a month ago).



The main indoor thing I was going to do was bake an election cake

but I (to my surprise) don't have any yeast or the apple cider I was planning to use as a substitute for the alcoholic liquids. I could bake corn bread, or cookies, or go out for ice cream instead.

I only wrote some GOTV postcards a couple of months ago, but many people have been working hard all the time to get Democrats elected. One of the admonitions has been "All gas, no brakes." Today I someone canvassing today in Philadelphia wrote "All gas no breaks." You know, that works fine too.
