supply chain?
Jan. 23rd, 2025 08:55 pmI ordered some flowers for Flo. I had successfully ordered some for her grandmother-in-law in December (they live near each other), but instead of being sensible, I tried a different florist. They cancelled the order because of "supply chain problems." First of all, it wasn't the local shop that told me that, it was their centralized ordering line, which the person on the phone admitted when I asked. Second, western MA isn't a particularly isolated place. They couldn't get flowers from a wholesaler to make into the bouquet?
Were the flowers coming from the Gulf Coast and under a pile of snow? This time of year, don't most commercial flowers come from Central America? Are we restricting them at the same time we are cancelling the immigration appointments for folks who have been waiting for admission interviews? (I don't really believe that, but it was a passing thought in my mind).
