lauradi7dw: white flowers growing in a circle in the yard (flower circle)
Up at 4:44 but didn't leave the house until 5:15 because of the don't drive in the dark rule. A little earlier would have still had some light in the sky.
Annual stuff by the river. Greeted people I see once a year, others I see almost once a week, like [personal profile] sorcyress. People from many of my circles were there - ringers, SCA, coworkers from the 1970s (who still dance with Newtowne Morris. They were the reason I started going in 1978). Nobody from knitting group, but other people from the UU congregation I continue to be slightly a part of. Nobody from the tap class, nobody from the Korean class (although the college-age child of a friend was there, who has read some of the same Korean novels in translation that I have). I stayed long enough to process to the Harvard campus, then I wandered off, streak intact.
Sat on a bench by Spy Pond and ate cornbread and avocado for breakfast. Went to friend's apartment briefly and then on the way to her chemo we had a detour to the Boston Public Garden because it's peak tulip time and she's a fan. We may have been the only masked people in the garden. Her infusion nurse also really likes tulips. They are pretty, and in big clumps can be impressive, but they wouldn't be my top choice. While things were dripping into her, I went down the street to the Longwood food court building to buy lunch. Lots of confusion, as the wifi was down in the building so all stalls were requiring cash. Cash wasn't a problem for me, but while soup was on the menu at the Indian place, it took more than 5 minutes to arrive in a little cardboard cup even though I was the only customer at the time (someone who arrived just after me left to go to an ATM so she could buy food). I don't know whether the soup was canned or frozen, but it was OK when I finally got to eat it. Got back to learn from E that RFJ jr claims there are bits of human fetal debris in MMR shots. Not the case.
After I dropped E off at her apartment, I went home, had a snack, and then walked to Lexington center, where I stood around for an hour and a half holding signs, chatting, etc. I only saw one person there whom I had seen at the river 12 hours earlier. Very few people's signs were worker-related (including two that were fan notes about the USPS), but there were more than 150 people waving at cars going by, mad at the president and other Republicans.

The ads on twitter are usually either boring to me or objectionable. I just clicked on something that I thought was a fan video, but it was an ad. Has twitter figured me out? Will clicking on that mean that the ones I don't like go away? Stay tuned.
