lauradi7dwI had hesitated before watching the Masterpiece Theatre remake of "Persuasion." We were very much enamored of the 1995 version starring Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds. I watched it anyway.
I liked it a lot, although there were departures from the book. One of the changes I really liked. I'm always fond of the amount of walking the Austen characters do. In this version, there was a scene of Anne running flat out along the damp sidewalks in Bath, wearing those leather soled slippers with no arch supports.
