I've been watching the PBS Sunday night Austen adaptations. On Super Bowl Sunday (3 February), they are doing an original bio-pic about Austen instead of one of her novels. Presuming that the football game, which is alleged to start at about 6:15 runs long because of all those commercials, there will be overlap. It seems obvious that someone should combine them as party entertainment.
I like the idea of people drinking tea out of delicate cups (of which we only have a few, but still) while watching football, or strolling around in Empire
muslin gowns while eating bean dip, but I'm not sure we could manage the logistics of a large party.
