If we could ignore everybody else

Could we as the US take a break for a few years and just work on us? I'm not normally isolationist but if we spent all our time working on racism and class privilege and related issues we might get somewhere. Obama doesn't have any experience as a leader during war time or in foreign policy, really, but for getting our own house in order, he might be the one.

The video is up at youtube, but it's 37 minutes long and I haven't watched it. In this case it's not his style I need to hear, it's the ideas, and like many people, I was sobbing by the end.
