Neil Gaiman is doing stories to go along with photos for a book about Amanda Palmer, more or less. I knew this. I knew that he was at the photo shoots. There was something that had not sunk in until I followed the link from his blog and read this

I got about half-way down the entry and thought "the Costume shop isn't on Kneeland Street any more" and then realized that mid-day yesterday, at about the time I was at Charles Street station, I was a couple of miles away from NG (and Amanda Palmer's assistant Beth, and photographer Kyle Cassidy, and presumably hundreds of other people). I don't know where I thought the photo shoot was, but it didn't dawn on me that it was nearby, even though AP is from around here (in fact she went to Lexington High School). Had I known, would I have tried wandering aimlessly around downtown looking for them? No, but it would have been a thrill to see him accidentally.
