lauradi7dwThe NBC commentator remarked that Stephanie Brown Trafton's gold medal in discus was "the biggest upset in the games so far." I wonder how many casual viewers think of discus at all, much less keep track of who's predicted to win.
SBT has in some sense been an Olympic hopeful since she was 4 and got a replica Mary Lou Retton gymnastics outfit after the 1984 Olympics. It's a good thing she didn't pin all her athletic dreams on gymnastics - she's 6'4.
