Despite what one might imagine from my post on Friday, I have decided to go ahead and get Windows Office 2007 for the laptop. I basically am required to use it at school and switching back and forth between an old version of Open office at home and the newest not-so-open Office at school is an enormous headache. One of my lab partners suggested that we take up with Google Docs for the Kinesiology lab reports but she was the only one of the three of us who had any experience with it, and we use Windows for EP, so we're staying with that.

I like Office 2007. A lot. Better than any of the other versions, including Office 2008 for Mac. Open Office I tried for a very short while, but, yes, the switching got to me fast.

If you're working on mostly text with multiple people, Google Docs is definitely handy. Even if you're just working by yourself on multiple computers. But it doesn't handle formatting anywhere near as well as Office, especially complicated formatting.

It's text with tables and graphs ("charts") and sometimes pictures embedded, so it really isn't like writing an essay. One of my motivations for using it would have been to think fondly of you every time, and I can do that anyway.
