In the distant past, I had a co-worker who claimed that this was the actual motto of the PO. I thought of it today when I tried to place a hold mail order online for the time of our vacation. The web site informed me that from our zip code, the online service would not work. It gave a phone number. I had a conversation with a machine, which correctly tracked down my address from our phone number by using, as it said, "a commercial database." After discerning my address, it informed me that I couldn't get the mail held via the phone, either, and offered to give me the hours for the nearest PO. What the heck? I've used the online service many times, and today when I tried using a Somerville zip code, it was willing to help me. Has the Lexington PO taken giant leap backward? I'll go ask them tomorrow.
