Ender and Superman

There's been a bit of a ruckus lately because Orson Scott Card has been hired to write a couple of Superman comics. The best essay I've read about it is here

I understand the boycott idea, but I'm grateful to have read "Ender's Game" years ago when a friend of Flo's recommended it. It's hard to reconcile Card's virulent anti-gay stuff with the book - Ender and his friends were underdogs, individuals, etc, and Ender was definitely a guy who (I'd like to think) would not discriminate or denigrate someone for the way s/he was.
