What does "recorded human history" mean?
May. 29th, 2013 12:06 pmThe explanation of today's Astronomy Picture of the Day claims that 10,000 years ago is before recorded human history.
Does that mean text, using words? Aboriginal rock paintings in Australia (using ochre or other pigments) have been dated to 25,000 years ago, or considerably earlier, and the cave paintings in France may be 35,000 years old. At a minimum, I'd think that we can get some of the messages conveyed, like "We saw these animals. Animals are cool."
I have been thinking of starting to tweet, because I have several thoughts a day that I consider putting here on LJ, but they tend to be fairly short, or just links. But who would follow me?
