I remember, but I am too lazy to get myself downtown to the service in Boston tonight. I went to one of the early ones, at Arlington Street Church, which was kind of like a Friends Meeting but weirder - people stood up when they felt like it, and said (or sang) what they wanted, without much apparent organization. I felt the outdoor candelit vigils were better, but still, not going tonight.
Look at their faces, read their ages, and shudder at a world in which being shot to death is by far the most merciful murder

The Junior choir at church (follen.org) put up a display of their gratitude lists. Friends figured prominently on almost every list, but they were only spelled that way part of the time (the age range of the choir is 2nd-5th grade, I think). Firends, frends, freinds all showed up. I remarked on it to the woman standing next to me, who said that she was grateful for spell check, because she has trouble with it too. But we didn't have any trouble reading the lists - it's much easier to figure out what someone meant than to spell it right the first time.
