Current worried/cautious/paranoid level
Dec. 22nd, 2021 12:06 pmDid a self-test on Saturday morning (5.5 days since last airplane trip). Negative. Did a self-test before going to the periodontist yesterday. Negative. Plan to test before we leave for the airport on Friday.
Went to knitting group this morning (all vaxxed, window open a crack, mostly masked with mixed competence). I had an N95 (two others did as well), plus a cloth mask over it, my usual way for grocery stores and such. After I was there for maybe fifteen minutes, one of the other N95 maskers got a call from her (adult) son saying that he and his fiancee had tested positive, after learning from fiancee's sister that *she* tested positive two days ago. I started to back away even more from the table than I already had been. Knitting friend last saw her son on Saturday (a count of four days). Doesn't seem too likely to be infected/infectious. Knitted a row. Packed up. Backed up farther, but stayed a little while longer. Another knitter took her mask off to drink out of her coffee mug. That put me over the line, and I was out of there immediately. Windows open in the car on the way home, for no scientific reason? Got home, washed hands, face, mask.
We are still planning to go to my mother's for a couple of days. We will be very careful, but that doesn't seem to be enough any more, if it ever was.
