streaks, plans
Jan. 31st, 2024 08:23 amIn January I have done Duolingo every day. I have rowed at least a few minutes every day. I have done a front plank for 1 minute every day. I have done pretty well with my plan to cut way back on refined sugar (to offset the late December cookie binging). That is not to say that I don't eat things that are full of *unrefined* sugars (fruit and carrots every day) and lots of carbs. Beans and rice are classic vegetarian fare and that's all carb (except for protein and fiber).
The stress-induced weight loss seems to have leveled off.
February body goals: add 15 seconds to the front planks, start side planks at a very low duration, keep rowing, add dumbbells, be less of a wimp about running. I don't want to slip on ice or snow, but I shouldn't use cold air as an excuse.
There are ice cream sandwiches in the freezer giving me pointed looks when I take out frozen peas. The sugar pumpkin from early October is on the counter waiting to be made into a pie. Desserts may start happening.
I'm still doing Tai Chi weekly. One of my knitting friends thinks I should take up with mindfulness meditation instead of talk therapy (but yes, take drugs). I might go back to tap dancing if the timing works out. I plan to attend the mask-required contra dance in a couple of weeks, but maybe I'm too sad to dance (not going to a liquor store, though).
