lost in a technology circle
Feb. 11th, 2024 08:41 pmNeither Zoom nor Discord can find my camera on the laptop. I have tried a variety of obvious things. I tried to check on updates for Zoom but it wants me to log in first. OK, fine, but since I don't usually log in to Zoom (just follow a link), it wanted to send me a one time code. Except it didn't. Not in the inbox, not in the junk. Tried again a couple of times. Told me I had asked for too many codes. I haven't figured out how to reach a person at Zoom and that won't fix the camera issue anyway. I was in a Zoom meeting on Wednesday and everything was fine. I'm going to shut things down overnight and see if everything magically fixes itself overnight.
MONDAY NIGHT UPDATE: My main laptop is the MSI gamer one I bought for online bellringing (and eventually almost everything else). Somewhere deep down I remembered a previous camera problem. The video camera is connected somehow to the F6 key, and the toggle effect comes from hitting F6 and the fn key at the same time. Did I artfully drop something on the keyboard? I don't know but I have done them in the correct way, and it's fixed.
