The AI family (?) are happily drinking milk as cows in Texas and Kansas get avian flu

Along with ongoing Covid denial there seems to have been a complete return to the idea that people should give colds to everyone around them. In the past couple of weeks, I've noticed an uptick in people who are clearly ill going to places looking feverish, coughing, blowing their noses, and not wearing masks. This includes people I generally like, but I also changed seats on two different buses yesterday because people I don't know were so casual about not covering their coughs. And is it really allergy season already? Maybe your respiratory thing *isn't* due to pollen. Or tiredness, or spending the night on a plane (all explanations I have heard). I tested negative for Covid yesterday but will test again tomorrow before my dermatologist appointment to be sure I'm not carrying it after the trip last week.
