VPN choices

I bought a new-to-me reconditioned iPad but haven't set it up yet because I was going to get a VPN first. I had finally decided on Surfshark, but not so finally, I guess, because someone recommended Nord and I wavered. Then Malwarebytes (which I use for the laptops) suggested their VPN. So now I'm back to being undecided. I want it for the pad and the phone. The laptops never leave the house, so I am not planning to add a VPN to those. Malwarebytes has a package deal but I'm not sure it saves much over Surfshark.
