Clean the house
Get out of the house
My feeling a lot of the time is that since I live alone, I don't need to clean (with some sanitary exceptions like parts of the kitchen and bathrooms, plus laundry). Regular maintenance makes a cleaning blitz for visits from Flo easier, though. The plumber claimed (at a distance) that the radiator problem could be fixed. I didn't ask for any details, but will call next week. It dawned on me that I would not just have to tidy the room but possibly move furniture if they have to remove the old radiator entirely and replace it. That's discouraging.
I do get out of the house, almost every day, usually with at least token interactions with other people (lengthy ones several days a week). When I'm in the house I tend toward an overly sedentary existence
but do a few body moving things like a plank and rowing and the necessary stair climbing. Scrubbing and vacuuming would count there, too. The other day a friend suggested that I become a Hospice volunteer. What? She worked in the field for twenty years and feels that since I have managed to cope at the bedside of dying parents I could do it with strangers, I guess. It would never have crossed my mind but now I'm at least thinking about thinking about it (not a typo. Baby steps for big changes. I remember being impressed at how many steps were presumed to be necessary before someone quits smoking - think about talking to someone about it. If there is a pamphlet, think about picking it up to read. Stuff like that).
