MBTA website discrepancies

The Red line schedule would lead one to believe that a train departs from Alewife station at 5:16 AM. However, fiddling around on the trip planner feature never yields a train earlier than 5:24 AM. Have they removed the earlier train from reality but not from the published schedule? One way to find out would be to show up at 5:10 on Thursday and see. I'll consider it, or maybe I'm not really that curious.
