I didn’t want to travel for Thanksgiving. We spent time with my parents last week and had a little Thanksgivingish meal on Saturday evening. Flo hosted a Friendsgiving on Sunday, and spent today with us. She brought some leftover pie and the cranberry sauce (we both use Kathy Gunst’s recipe). We made nutloaf and roasted a bunch of root vegetables from the Farmers’ market: beet, butternut squash (local but not a root), carrot, parsnip, rutabaga, sweet potato, white potato. Harvest home indeed, even if we weren't the growers. I’m very grateful.
