Cab Calloway

Twitter informed me that yesterday was the 30th anniversary of Cab Calloway's death. A number of people linked to his "Minnie the Moocher" appearance in "The Blues Brothers," but my top association will always be the result of his multiple appearances on Sesame Street. There were at least three, presumably all filmed at the same time in 1981 (based on the appearance of the stage). Maybe ten years after that, regular sesame street-watcher Flo was running around the house with her onesie unsnapped at the bottom, making it look like a tail hanging behind her. She said "Look at me, I'm Cab Calloway." Sesame Street's charge was to teach kids stuff. If being able to recognize Cab Calloway was one of those things, they did a good job.
