From the Vagina Museum's twitter feed this morning
>>Today is #TransgenderDayOfRemembrance. This year, we remember 350 trans people who were murdered. In the past 15 years, more than 5000 murders are documented, most of them trans women of colour in the Global South. We mourn the dead. We fight like hell for the living.<<
Hat tip to Mother Jones, but I don't feel that I fight like hell for the living. I post once a year and have a Save Trans Lives button on my jacket. And send money to organizations. (I was about to type "and write checks," but in truth it's usually a credit card online). I used to go to remembrance services but stopped even keeping track of where to find one.
