Some time in the early 1980s we bought the then new version of the Total Gym. It looks mostly like this

This is not the version demonstrated by Chuck Norris on lots of infomercials - this one is enormously heavy and doesn't fold or anything. Like many things, it has been in our attic for decades (last week a friend returned the baby blue polyester tuxedo jacket her son had borrowed two years ago for a school skit. I hadn't noticed it was gone, but now it's back in the attic). We have decided it is time to give the Total Gym away. We wrestled the rolling portion of it down the stairs last night, but the sturdy base was blocked in by boxes and stuff. I went up this afternoon and realized that included in the rubble were about 20 years worth of shoe boxes. I don't expect to make any dioramas any time soon. Is there some sensible thing to do with them other than break them down and recycle them?
