the world's busiest airport
Oct. 1st, 2007 08:50 pmis in Atlanta, and so was I. The world's second busiest airport is just outside of Baghdad, and I'm happy not to have been there. There's some interesting art in the Atlanta one, and if you look around for a while while waiting for your delayed plane you can find vegetarian lo mein that they're willing to serve on a paper plate instead of in a polystyrene box. Can't ask for much better than that by way of cheap airport food. I sat eating it by a window that afforded a view of mad speedy traffic, with unmarked 4-way intersections populated by people driving around baggage trailers, fuel trucks, and the occasional 757. It's a wonder to me that they don't have crashes on the tarmac all the time.
On the other hand, the Chattanooga airport has 5 gates, which share a waiting room. I still had to take off my shoes to go through the x-ray machine, though. A comforting sameness about
airports after all.
