Aug. 24th, 2014 09:05 amThe car in front of me at the complicated (but totally functional) intersection in Arlington Center did not turn right until the green arrow came on, as is legally required there. On the other hand, the driver drove straight through the red light on Mass Ave at the Mill Street intersection, just a little farther on, without even slowing down. No crash ensued, but it was an interesting choice.
Nearer to Lexington Center, someone was crouching down in the street, back to traffic (which at that time was sparse), apparently filming something using a smart phone I worried about his or her safety, but didn't interfere. A bit closer to the center, three guys on bikes were riding abreast, occupying a full lane. There is no bike space there, and the law is that a single bike, much less three, would be entitled to take up a full lane, but it seemed like a bold move to me.
