I worry a lot that some day we'll need to move my mother in with us, which won't really be feasible because there is pretty much nothing accessible in our house. Steps to both outside doors, and to the bedrooms. Neither bathroom is accessible even if we could get her into the house. The door frames are narrower than is code now, so it would be hard to get a walker or wheelchair through. Or a gamer chair, as it turns out. The desk chair I use was given to us (used) by a friend when he moved away about twenty-five years ago. It has some small problems, and the noises it makes lead me to wonder how long it will be before it has big problems. My mother is only comfortable in chairs that are high enough to support her head if she leans back. I was reading something that led me to wonder whether a gamer chair might be useful, although she already has two recliner chairs. (She doesn't recline in either one, but the back is the way she likes it). I don't want something as big as a recliner, but I also like tall-backed chairs. I went to Staples to try some out. I didn't touch any armrests, but did sit, and then used a lot of sanitizer. I sat in this one and decided it was one of the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in. https://www.staples.com/staples-vartan-gaming-chair-red-53241/product_24326595 A problem (the fact that it is ugly is not a problem) is that its legs + wheels diameter is wider than our doors. If I were only using it as a desk chair, I could assemble it in the room, but I like to move my current desk chair from room to room for different uses. I guess I won't buy it, especially as the web specifications say that it is leather. The tag on the one in the store didn't say that. Confusing. In other another chair update, I have ordered the kit for the rocking chair seat. That chair folds, so it fits easily through our doors.
