World Aids Day, other viruses

I know he's not representative of the world of people with AIDS, but here's a quote from Magic Johnson because I'm not feeling creative enough to write a thing myself:

Also, while going through blogs of Decembers past, I read the post from early December 2019 about my mother being diagnosed with viral pneumonia. The first confirmed Covid case in the US was not until almost six weeks later, but one wonders.
