Politics and prayer?

lauradi7dwTeen Vogue has fired their entire politics staff. They now have one writer of color. One could despair if one were not easily distracted.
I am hoping very much that Mamdani wins. But even more than that I hope he doesn't die anytime soon. He has had to have bodyguards for quite a while (even as he is hugging strangers almost constantly, as far as one can tell from a distance). A few minutes ago I had a wave of terror wash over me. I am not a praying person, because I don't believe in a deity that is almost indistinguishable from Santa Claus (naughty and nice list? Giving things to people who ask for them in some right way>), but the "keep him safe" thought is there.
