preparing for the upcoming fuel shortage
Apr. 1st, 2026 09:00 amGas prices in the US have shot up, probably at least partly due to gouging, because we still have some in reserve. Other countries are already dealing with it in more extreme ways. Korea is asking (requiring?) drivers to cut back on trips, and airlines are taking "emergency measures."

In my selfish way, I am wondering whether this will affect the upcoming BTS tour. I have tickets for two locations, as mentioned previously. I don't know whether they try to conserve, or do carbon offsets, or what, but they flit about quite a lot. What if they can't?
In the meantime, I will have the furnace oil tank filled up as well. I will fill the car gas tank when I go to put air in my tires (I must have a slow leak in one - the low pressure light has been coming on about once a month but now it has only been a couple of weeks). I have taken it to the mechanic, but since I have not been keeping track of which tire it is, they send me away. I tried checking the pressure at home with my old cheap gauge, and I think it is not working. The numbers seem too unlikely.
As opposed to the astounding amount of fuel (whatever its composition) that is being put into the Artemis rocket right now
