I'm finally watching "Sinners." That was something said by the character Annie (played by Wunmi Mosaku). My emotional framework right now is not ideal, but as a turn of phrase, it fits me well.

In terms of the movie, I wish I had gotten my act in gear to see it in a theater earlier this year, but I was happy to watch the DVD at home, and it might have been better - I was occasionally talking to the screen, out loud. ("Don't go near that door!")

Watched all the way through to the Interpol notice at the end of the DVD. I recognized some of the musicians listed (a few of them acted, some just in the background). Rhiannon Giddens. Jeffrey Broussard. Buddy Guy. Lars Ulrich. I paused it to look. Lars Ulrich? Why was he there? * Why did I recognize his name? I actually know why I recognized his name - he was name-checked in the 2004 movie "The Prince and Me," in a list of famous people from Denmark. Why do I remember stuff like that but not, for example, the Korean word for green (or most colors). Memory is weird. I'm considering buying the soundtrack.

I loved it. But yeah it really benefits from being seen on a big screen.
