In the last couple of days I've seen two different cars go straight on red (as opposed to speeding through at the end of the yellow light or turning right on red), some weird lane swerving, and the smeared remains of two different dead animals on the road. There seems to be a gust of absent-minded driving going on.

There's the "joke" about Boston drivers I hear every so often: that they wait when a light turns green....

I do exactly that, always have when driving in the city, apparently with very good reason.

I was taught in drivers' ed to wait for a second or two to make sure nobody in the other direction was running the red light.

This morning in Kendall as I stepped up to the cross walk the guy in the appraoching car was looking out his side window. I mean...what the hell? He did bring his eyes forward and slow down but i was not best pleased. Gah.
