Beowulf or tap? (unfortunately *not* a tap-dance version of Beowulf)

It's registration time. I had been pleased, planning to take a very non-sciencey Old English and Beowulf class as an elective, but I'm perturbed to see that it conflicts with my tap class, and on Tuesdays it would be the only class I take, so if I don't do it I could bike to tap and avoid the commute that day entirely. Driving instead of dancing? I am considering being extremely cheeky and asking the professor whether I can just come to class once a week instead of twice a week, but I don't know that I can be that rude, even by email.
