seen at the Boston Marathon
Apr. 20th, 2009 03:55 pmFrom somewhere near mile 15, over the period of about an hour:
Thousands of people, but not Arthur's colleague. We haven't become accustomed to the earlier start yet and arrived too late to see him run past.
Five guided blind runners.
One runner pulling a cart behind him with a large oxygen tank (connected to the tubes into his nostrils)!
Two separate people running with one human leg and one prosthetic leg. The woman who still has her knee clearly was having an easier time of it than the guy who does not. Both of the substitute legs looked quite high-tech.
At least half a dozen women wearing running skirts http://www.runningskirts.com/running-skirts.html
Bill Rogers.
The family member the people standing next to us were waiting for. They had made a very impressive sign to cheer her on, and she took time out to post for a picture standing with the sign, and to hug the dog.
