Live journal
Jan. 12th, 2006 12:33 pmI don't usually do these, and I refuse to call it a meme, a word that used to have a real meaning besides the current "how to waste time on LJ." But here it is:
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.
The closest book is actually "Diagrams," but its last page is 117,and there aren't any sentences.
>>Alas, that Chauntecleer fleigh fro the bemes!<<
Chaucer, from the Nun's Priest's Tale.
I discovered yesterday that a fairly creepy (to me) way to waste time on LJ is to pretend to be a famous person and maintain a journal in that person's voice. I found this when I was looking up Teddy Thompson. He (the actual singer-guitarist)has his own web site, but a search also yielded the LJ of the pseudo-TT. With friends like pseudo Martha Wainwright, and pseudo Johnny Depp, and others. This is the disclaimer/explanation:
