nothing is forever, even on the internet

Years ago, a couple of writers started a blog based on making rude comments about Dawson's Creek and ER.  It turned into Mighty Big TV, then to Television Without Pity, expanding to recaps and forum comments and ads and unfunny (to me) "humorous" t-shirt merchandise and so forth.  It was bought by NBC, and starting next week, it will be shut down.  Over its duration, I have followed some of the recappers faithfully, been totally annoyed by others, and wondered how they chose the shows they did, but I'm sad that they won't be there on the occasions that I want to drop by and see another POV about a show I've watched, or catch up on one I've missed.
