Happy Abraclam Lincoln's birthday
Feb. 12th, 2010 08:44 amA good friend from high school (whom I haven't seen since) went through a phase in the 9th grade of drawing little cartoon pictures with clams replacing rhyming people. For example, our Algebra teacher was named Mrs Lamb, so her cartoon representation was Mrs Clam. Abraham Lincoln turned into Abraclam Lincoln (imagine a beard and stovepipe hat on a clam). This is a pretty silly thing to remember for forty years. I looked on Linkedin and found the guy. Should I send him just the subject line above, presuming that *he* will remember?
From time to time I report that Neil Gaiman has been nearby but I didn't see him. The twist this time is that I was leafing through the latest issue of the Lexington Minuteman (a weekly newspaper) and saw a very traditional engagement announcement for NG and Amanda Palmer, whose mother lives in Lexington. Their names, education background, jobs, parents' names, smiling photo. Apparently Amanda Palmer's middle initial is actually M, not F.
