I thought of it when someone asked Ann Romney yesterday if she would bring her therapy horses to the White House if Mitt were elected. She said that they would come to the DC area with her, but not into the house. I wondered when there were last some horses living on the grounds, and looked it up on whitehousehistory.org. The White House had stables until the Taft administration, when the stable was converted into a garage for a steam car.
